A LEVEL Content This course will expose you to the field of sport and exercise science. You will study functional anatomy, applied sport and exercise psychology, coaching for performance and fitness, and physical activity for individual and group-based exercise. SPORT AND EXERCISE SCIENCE NATIONAL EXTENDED CERTIFICATE Equivalent to one A Level, this course will enable you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the sport and exercise science sector. It will help to prepare you for a sports-related degree at university as well as for a career in the sports industry. Entry Requirements Please see the entry requirements on page 11. Assessment You will be assessed via written and practical examinations, as well as written pieces of coursework. Within your assessments, you may be required to describe, explain, compare, analyse and evaluate different concepts. You will focus on a range of historical and contemporary topics, which will further develop your understanding of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries. You will also study Spanish literature and film, which will encourage you to keep up to date with current affairs. During the course, you will have the opportunity to travel to Spain, to improve your linguistic skills and knowledge of the culture. Assessment You will be assessed on your listening, reading, writing, speaking and grammar manipulation through translation. SPANISH A LEVEL A Level Spanish helps you become a confident communicator in Spanish while developing your skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, analysis, and research. You’ll also learn more about the cultures and societies of Spanish-speaking countries. The course is a great choice for university progression and future international career opportunities. Spanish can lead to a variety of exciting careers such as: translating, interpreting, finance, law, sales and marketing, engineering, tourism, leisure, public sector, United Nations and European Union, media, teaching (primary and secondary), and linguistics.
