Vision & Ethos
CTK St Mary’s – a community
As a Catholic sixth form and part of the Christ the King group, CTK St Mary’s has a distinctive ethos at its heart. Your time with us will prepare you for the future in every way, and to live life in all its fullness.
We place great importance on qualifications, hard work, commitment to your studies, and academic success. However, we are about far more than that. We are here to educate you in the widest sense, inspiring you to realise your full potential.
Our Vision for our Students
Ut Vitam Habeant
That they may have life in all its fullness
John 10:10
As a student, you and your family will benefit from the distinct vision we have for everyone who studies at CTK St Mary’s. This vision for your personal and professional success is underpinned by our values, distinguished by our community and framed by our location in London – a leading global city.
In this context, our aim is to work with you so that you are fully prepared to contribute to society as a well-rounded, self-aware, motivated and knowledgeable person. To achieve this we will:
- Encourage you to be ambitious and high achieving.
- Challenge you to be resilient, confident, creative and courageous.
- Educate you to be articulate, curious, reflective and capable.
- Support you to develop the virtues of loyalty, respect, care and commitment.
- Inspire you to live principled, moral and dignified lives.
The CTK Graces
Through our character education programme, The CTK Graces, you will develop the traits and attributes you need to be discerning and to thrive in the highly competitive world that awaits you. You will take part in a learning programme that invites you to consider the personal, spiritual and moral issues you will face in the future.
You will be nurtured and valued as an individual through our tutorial and pastoral support systems.
CTK St Mary’s is underpinned by values of mutual respect and positive encouragement, welcoming you whatever your faith, or if you have none at all. You will be invited to consider the personal, spiritual and moral issues you will face ahead, through our learning programme.
We are proud that this ethos was recognised by Ofsted in its most recent inspection, which commented: ‘The College fosters a spirit of generosity and love’.
