Pastoral Care
Be supported at CTK St Mary’s
You will be empowered to achieve your full potential with our combination of academic excellence and exceptional pastoral care.
You will be inspired to succeed both academically and as a person, learning the important life skills of resilience, confidence, courage and creativity.
Students of every faith, and none, are warmly welcomed at our Catholic sixth form. All our students enjoy the benefits of our strong community ethos, providing an environment of positive encouragement and mutual respect.
This ethos is fully supported through the work of our Chaplaincy, where the team will celebrate with you in times of joy and listen or advise you in times of difficulty. You are always supported at CTK St Mary’s.
A welcoming sixth form community
If you enjoy being part of a welcoming and supportive community, you will love the atmosphere at CTK St Mary’s. All the students know each other, and the staff know each student too.
You will be studying with likeminded, aspirational students who have similar goals to you. Your study programme will be timetabled around your needs and your Personal Tutor will stay with you throughout your time here. They will regularly review your progress, help with any difficulties, and work with you to set achievable goals.
You will be given extensive academic support outside of your lessons, including subject-specific workshops, help with homework, coursework or revision, and study skills sessions.
Parent feedback
Parents are encouraged to be involved. Formal reports are produced five times a year and we host regular Parents’ Evenings so that you and your family can discuss your progress, ask questions and respond to your tutor’s comments.
Students with additional needs For students with disabilities, or where English is not your first language, we have a dedicated learning support area with experienced staff. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you to discuss your needs so that we can make all reasonable adjustments to help you succeed.
