This course can lead to careers including sports coaching, physiotherapy, personal training and leisure management.

CONTENT

Your A Level in Physical Education will equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills relating to the scientific, socio-cultural and practical aspects of Physical Education.

You will analyse how physiological and psychological states affect performance and will develop your understanding of the key socio-cultural factors that influence people’s involvement in sport. Topics will include applied anatomy and physiology, skill acquisition, sport and society, biomechanical movement, sport psychology, sport and society and the role of technology in physical activity and sport.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five GCSEs at grade 9-5
  • English and Maths at minimum grade 5

ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed via exams, practical work and coursework, on your ability to perform, as well as your analysis of relevant core skills and techniques as a sports performer, official or coach within a fully competitive situation.
